i love you
and want you
more
than i can
ever say

like the languid glow
of incense
i have smouldered 
with a secret
fragrant desire
for millennia
when we have bloomed 
as many souls

always thirsty
restless,
in pursuit

always a hair’s breath away
from the fingertips
of my famished heart
