no matter what happens
don’t ever forget
life’s a miracle
and you
a miraculous being

it’s a miracle
that you can breathe
and touch and hear
and see

it’s a miracle
that you can feel

feel the touch of the sun
a kiss from the breeze

feel even what
someone else’s pain
might be

i know
your beautiful heart
is wounded
i know
your beautiful heart
grieves

you say it’s as if
those who went away were mine
you say, i’m alive but it’s as if
the ones who died
were me

feel that pain
let your heart melt, get wrenched
let your eyes weep

and if there is anger
or hatred
don’t do anything with it
just let it be

don’t harden your precious heart
don’t wander these dark alleys

remember
even just punishment
grows out of Mercy

how else would we say
Bismillah ar Rahman ar Raheem?

so whatever you do
whisper only prayers
send out only love

because only Love heals
