have you forgotten

how you began

in the ecstatic union

of two people?

go deep inside yourself

and remember how

you were conceived

in their melting

through each other

into the world

in that instant

when two cells

became one

became you

a man

and a woman

became each other

and the universe

this story of your origin

tells you something

of where you’ve really

come from

and where

you seek to go

but don’t become

an addict

compulsively seeking gratification

seek the freedom

of an unconditioned being

for whom

in every form

only the Beloved appears

and every act of service

is an act of Love
