if there is
even one window
one little crack 
open

of the crazed

Lovers of God

with their wild hair
and disheveled clothing

and strange
almost dangerous look 
of unconcern

join them
when they make
the haunting music
of those possessed
by otherworldly passion

when they sing
their raw
primordial longing
and play their lungs
like drums
on the name
Ever-Living
Beloved

listen
listen and you will hear
that they’re
one
single
heart 
beating 

listen
listen and you will hear
that they’re singing
and dancing
and drumming
from inside you

this unearthly music
this strange, bewildering hunger
this way of being
not-being

this 
is what you crave
this 
is who 
you really are
