the universe
is always
singing
a beautiful song
to you

that can
send you
into raptures

but you have to
listen
as if
you’re making love

tenderly, patiently
 and reverently

as if
you’re in
the arms
of the most
delicate,
ravishing creature

as if
you can’t believe
your incredible
good luck

as if
it’s what
you were created
to do

as if
the only thing
you’ll ever do

is
listen

just listen

savouring
every little sound
each word
and every bit
of silence
