A Meadow Filled With Mercy

be a fool
drunk in Love

your robes
may be tattered
and your rice bowl
only half full

let people laugh
at you
or shake their heads
in disbelief

the joy
that comes only
from God’s Love
cannot be bought
for any price
at any shop
in the marketplace

give up everything
run
as if on fire
when the Beloved
whispers
your name

open that secret door
inside your heart
let all who pass through it,
monsters, cheats, traitors,
turn to blessing

become a meadow
filled with mercy
where everyone
can have their fill
