Melody

He flings whom He wills
into this ocean of fire
where i see you
as His face
where i want you
with a constant
nameless desire

dearest, you are
the source of inescapable,
smouldering heartache
the name for unfilled,
ancient longing

who knows this
but one flung in the same fire?
burning with the same anguish?

those who only know and want
pleasures of the flesh
what do they know of this:
lovemaking of the soul
no touch
just constant prayer

each moment being played
like a musical instrument
and released as melody
